Volunteer Positions

  • Develop promotional materials, advertisements, presentations, or public
    relations initiatives to promote awareness of our services.
  • Edit scripts, audio, video, and other promotional material.
  • Plan and execute advertising strategies for organization on Social Media Channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
  • Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of
    layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
  • Develop graphics and layouts for social media posts, online advertising,
    illustrations for events.
  • Compile and/or develop materials to submit to granting or other funding
    organizations.
  • Contact corporate representatives, government officials, or community
    leaders to increase awareness of organizational causes, activities, or
    needs.
  • Assign, supervise, and review the activities of fundraising staff.
  • Plan and direct special events for fundraising, such as silent auctions,
    dances, golf events, or walks.
  • Develop business relationships with local corporations and organizations.
  • Schedule presentations to show our organization mission as well as our
    needs with a goal of finding new volunteers.
  • Coordinate current volunteers, develop their schedule and monitor hours.
  • Provide housing for one of our dogs in training.
  • Attend weekly training sessions.
  • Perform daily training at home.

 

Note: The foundation covers all of the expenses affiliated with the care of foundation dogs.

  • Prior experience in grant writing.
  • Review application guidelines to determine if a foundation, government agency, or
    corporation is a good match for the FIMH Foundation.
  • Write grants for federal and state government agencies, public/private foundation
    funders and other funding sources when applicable.
  • You will be responsible for ideating, planning, reviewing and owning our content on all social platforms, and foundation website.
  • Interviewing Veterans and their families, writing about their life changing journey.
  • Writing about our dogs and their road to become a service dog.
  • Writing stories about our volunteers, foster families and trainers and their endless
    hours of devotion to the foundation.
  • The media expert will play a key role in the growth of our foundation and will help take us to the next level.
  • Tell stories of our dogs and veterans with photos and videos.
  • Knowledge of professional audio and/or video editing and post-production
    procedures, techniques, and standards.
  • Capture images and videos from our events, training sessions, interviews.
